Independent MP Dai Le has labelled the Albanese government’s latest provision for social media giants as “dangerous”.
The Albanese government has unveiled its latest weapon to combat online abuse, hold tech giants to account and keep Australians safe online.
Labor has announced plans to legislate a ‘digital duty of care’, and the latest tech reform will include penalties for social media platforms that breach it.
“For the government to be stepping in what I think is very much people’s personal lives; I think that’s really dangerous,” Ms Le told Sky News Australia.
